What Great Leaders Actually Do: This Leadership Skill Will Change Your Life
Tuesday Oct 15, 2024
Tuesday Oct 15, 2024
Watching our daughter embark on a new adventure of her life has me thinking about growth and change. It feels like just yesterday she was a little baby, and now she's starting her own family in a new city! It's a beautiful reminder of how quickly life moves and how important it is to make the most of every moment. Kids, they grow automatically. One minute they're crawling, the next they're walking, and talking. It's amazing to witness! But as adults, we often forget that growth doesn't just happen on its own anymore. We get caught up in the routines and responsibilities of life, and before we know it, years have passed without us really evolving or making progress towards our dreams. If you're truly thriving in your life and leadership, it's because you're doing one crucial thing: being intentional. It's about recognizing that personal and professional development don't happen by accident. It takes conscious effort, focus, and a willingness to step outside of our comfort zones. Think about it - when was the last time you actively sought out a new challenge, learned a new skill, or pushed yourself beyond your limits? If it's been a while, you might be Living on Automatic™️, letting life happen to you instead of actively creating the life you want. In my newest podcast episode, What Great Leaders Actually Do, we're going to dive deeper into this concept of intentional living, We'll explore how to break free from autopilot and start creating the life you truly desire. I'll share some powerful insights and practical strategies from my book, The Success Lie, that can help you identify areas where you might be stuck and create a roadmap for intentional growth.

It's Graham, and I'm thrilled to share my latest episode of the Intentional Leadership Podcast with you. This one is special. I had the opportunity to sit down with a true giant in the tech world: Gary Shapiro, CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the driving force behind the world-renowned CES. Gary's influence extends far beyond the tech industry. He's a New York Times best-selling author, a sought-after speaker, and a passionate advocate for innovation in all its forms. In this episode, The Future is Now, we explore the forces shaping the future of technology, from the rise of AI and the promise of self-driving cars to the challenges of navigating a rapidly changing global landscape. But this conversation goes deeper than just gadgets and gizmos. Gary shares his incredible journey, starting with his early days fighting for the VCR (yes, the VCR!) to his current battles against some surprising opponents (you'll have to listen to find out who!). We delve into the importance of pivoting in business and in life, the power of entrepreneurship to solve global problems, and the critical role of leadership in fostering a culture of innovation. We also touch on some unexpected topics, like the future of healthcare, the importance of diversity and inclusion, and the need for a national self-driving car policy. Gary's insights are sharp, his stories are captivating, and his passion for technology is contagious. ⭐BOOKS⭐ 🔴 Pivot or Die: How Leaders Thrive When Everything Changes: https://amzn.to/3Y0m40G 🔴 The Innovator's Dilemma: The Revolutionary Book That Will Change the Way You Do Business: https://amzn.to/4eS7DCt

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, focusing on the urgent tasks and immediate goals. We rush from meeting to meeting, check off to-do lists, and strive to achieve the next milestone. But amidst all the busyness, have you ever stopped to consider the legacy you're building? What impact do you want to have on your business, your family, your community, and the world? What will people say about you when you're gone? Will they remember you for your kindness, your generosity, your leadership? Or will they remember you for something else entirely? These might seem like heavy questions, but they're CRUCIAL to consider if you want to live a life of true significance. Because the truth is, our lives are not just about what we accomplish, but also about the impact we have on others and the world around us. In my newest podcast episode, Don't Waste Your Life, we'll dive deep into the concept of legacy and how you can start building yours today. We'll explore the common regrets people have at the end of their lives, as shared by palliative care nurse Bonnie Ware, and how you can avoid them. These regrets serve as a powerful reminder that life is precious and that we need to make the most of our time here. We'll also discuss practical steps you can take to create a life that leaves a lasting, positive impact. We'll talk about identifying your passions and values, setting meaningful goals, and taking action to make a difference in the world. I'll also share inspiring stories of people who have created remarkable legacies, proving that it's never too late to start making a difference.

Two years ago, I experienced the mesmerizing beauty of the Galapagos on a sabbatical that taught me the true meaning of 'unplugging.' But my journey wasn't just about my experience. In this new episode, Hack Your Happiness: A Counterintuitive Guide to Mastering Your Emotions, we’ll explore how to get clear on what’s really going on inside.
