Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Intentional Leadership Podcast. On today's episode Graham and I will be talking about Feeling Burned Out Helping Others? You Might Have Compassion Fatigue. As someone who values empathy and compassion deeply, this topic hits close to home for me. You see, over the past year, I have experienced firsthand the toll that caregiving and supporting loved ones can take on our own well-being. The passing of my father and the responsibility of caring for my mother left me feeling exhausted, both physically and emotionally. Initially, I attributed this fatigue to grief, but upon learning about compassion fatigue, I realized that it encapsulated exactly what I was experiencing. It was a poignant moment of recognition for me, highlighting the toll that caring for others can have on our own health and vitality. Compassion fatigue manifests in various ways, from feelings of apathy and disengagement to physical symptoms like headaches and sleep disturbances. It's a silent struggle that often goes unrecognized, but it's essential that you acknowledge its presence and take proactive steps to address it. So, what can you do if you find yourself grappling with compassion fatigue?
